Jesse James McCabe, 35, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone), and possession of marijuana after an officer with the Department of Community Supervision discovered suspected illegal drugs in McCabe’s house on Wilmar Avenue.

According to an incident report, after the officer found the drugs, he contacted a detective with the Coffee County Drug Unit, who arrested McCabe and took him to jail. The detective weighed the drugs at the sheriff’s office; the methamphetamine came in at three grams and the marijuana weighed 29 grams. Both weights include packaging material. There were six Oxycodone tablets.

The report states that during questioning, McCabe stated that he smoked a lot of marijuana but does not sell it. A back injury he suffered in an accident causes him a lot of pain, he said, so he takes the Oxycodone for the pain. When he can’t get any Oxycodone, he takes methamphetamine instead.

McCabe remains in the Coffee County Jail.
