Mrs. Sue Carilon Carver Acorn, age 78 of Douglas, passed away Monday evening at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Acorn was born February 24, 1945 to the late Elmer Stanford Carver and the late Elizabeth Katie Hopkins Carver. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jesse Joseph Acorn, Jr.; a granddaughter: Lacey Stewart and a grandson: Christopher Taylor. 

 

 

Mrs. Acorn, was born in Douglas, GA. She was a former court recorder and a homemaker. She was a member of Evangel Tabernacle at West Green, GA. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

8 Children: Billy Rish and wife Diane of Douglas, GA 

Randy Rish of Douglas, GA 

Regina Rish of Nashville, TN 

Jesse “Trea” Acorn III and wife Janice of Wray, GA 

Angela Meeks and husband Del of St. George, GA 

Phillip Acorn and wife Cathy of Douglas, GA 

Jessica Myers and husband Jamie of Nicholls, GA 

Stephen Acorn and wife LaShay of Midland, GA 

 

 

2 Siblings: Elmer Stanford Carver, Jr. and wife Paula of Chandler, AZ 

Jerry Carver and wife Pat of Myrtle Beach, SC 

 

 

A Sister in Christ: Janell Kirkland of Douglas, GA 

 

 

22 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

 

The family will receive friends, Wednesday afternoon, April 26, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officating..

 

 

The interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
