A traffic stop at the intersection of Ward Street and Chester Avenue yielded a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and two arrests.

According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, officers stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche for failure to maintain lane. Two occupants were in the vehicle — Tonya Renee Lopez, 40, the driver, and a passenger, Wanda Marie Hollinger, 55. When questioned, both stated that there was nothing illegal in the vehicle and gave their consent to search.

During the search, a deputy found suspected methamphetamine on Hollinger. Another amount of suspected meth was found on the seat of the vehicle beside Lopez, the report states.

According to the report, Hollinger stated that she didn’t use methamphetamine but had bought a half an ounce to sell. The report says that she stated she would make $150 off the sale.

Both substances tested positive for methamphetamine. The amount found on Hollinger was about half an ounce. The amount found on the seat was approximately five grams. Both were arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. They remain in the Coffee County Jail.
