A Douglas woman was arrested on charges of falsely reporting a crime after she allegedly called 911 and stated that her two children had been shot.

According to a report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a call in the Oak Park area in reference to a  meet complainant on April 19. When officers arrived, they spoke with Priscilla Deaton, who stated she had received a message about her two kids being shot but she didn’t know the location of the alleged shooting. One of the officers reported that he had spoken with Deaton earlier in the evening about similar accusations.

The report states that Deaton said she didn’t have any mental health issues nor had she done any drugs. She had refused EMS earlier in the evening. One of the officers told her that she couldn’t call 911 and falsely report a crime or misuse emergency services.

Deaton was arrested and charged with false report of a crime. She was taken to the Coffee County Jail and was later released.
