Members of Coffee High FCCLA attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference and STAR Events Competition in Athens, Georgia, on March 23-25, 2023. While attending the Georgia FCCLA State Leadership Conference, students had the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal communication necessary in the workforce. The theme was “Summit of Success”, showing students as leaders, competitors, and members of FCCLA.
Students heard from Summer Owens whose motto, “S.O.What!” encouraged students to realize their successes no matter what obstacles they may face. Ms. Owens provided useful strategies to help the youth overcome life’s challenges so that they could reach their own success. Other activities included competitions and personal development workshops.
Coffee High FCCLA was represented by the following in their respective competitions: Solie Purvis, Career Investigation, Gold Winner; Anna Hubbard and Ciara Hubbard, Focus on Children, Level 3, Silver Winners; Jada Tanner and Jayden Wiggins, Focus on Children, Level 2, Silver Winners; Ariel Hill and Lauren Kight, Interpersonal Communications, Gold Winners; Emma Wilkerson, Job Interview, Gold Winner and Perfect 100 Score.
