Mr. Charles W. Ricketson, Sr. age 84 of Broxton, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 3, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Ricketson was born March 1, 1939 to the late George Manning Ricketson, MD and the late Edith Langdale Lewis. 

 

 

Mr. Ricketson was a native of Atlanta, GA. He was a former director for ASCS. Mr. Ricketson also served on the Board of Directors for Colony Bank from 1983 until 2012. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from University of GA. Mr. Ricketson was a prominent farmer in the Broxton community.

 

He was a long time member of Broxton United Methodist Church.

His Wife: Heidi Bond Ricketson of Broxton, GA 

 

 

5 Children: Charlie Ricketson, Jr. and wife Joan of Broxton, GA 

Janie Hester and husband Wayne of Douglas, GA 

Lou McDowell and husband Pat of Fort Worth, TX 

Sterling Bond of Brunswick, GA 

Christy Chaney of Douglas, GA 

 

 

10 Grandchildren: Wyatt Miller and wife Ericka of Plant City, FL 

Greer McDowell of Dallas, TX 

Alison Brice Vickers and husband Cam of Savannah, GA 

Jessica Deems and husband Jarred of Jacksonville, FL 

Janie Merritt and husband Casey of Wray, GA 

Josie Burkhalter of Jacksonville, FL 

Jaclyn Burkhalter of Douglas, GA 

Hunter Barnes of Brunswick, GA 

Falyn Bond of Townsend, GA 

Cameron Bond of Brunswick, GA 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends 

 

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Broxton United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Broxton United Methodist Church with Rev. John Homer officiating. The interment will follow at Broxton City Cemetery. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Greer McDowell, Wyatt Miller, Casey Merritt, Hunter Bond, Cameron Bond, Aaron Shearl, Lee Cliett and Jeff Cliett. 

 

 

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Broxton United Methodist Church, 105 Leggett Street, Broxton, GA 31519. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
