The National Junior College Athletic Association’s Men’s Basketball Coaches Association selected South Georgia State College’s Carlos Hart to play in the NJCAA All-Star Game May 20 at the Orleans Hotel & Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.

Hart was selected to the North All-Star Team and had six points, four rebounds, and two assists in a 103-100 loss to the South All-Star Team.

Being selected to play in the All-Star Game capped an award-winning sophomore season for Hart. He was a NJCAA third team All-America selection, Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year, a first team All-GCAA selection, and named GCAA Player of the Week five different times during this past season.

“This caps an unbelievable season and career for Carlos here at SGSC,” said head coach Cory Baldwin. “The All-Star Game is also great national exposure for our program and for the college.”

Hart is the third SGSC player selected for the All-Star Game, joining former players Jovante Spivey and Tyrone Sam.

SGSC finished the 2022-2023 season 26-8 (12-4 GCAA) and won the GCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the second time in three years, earning an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., in March.
