Ethan Kramer receives state young leader award

Ethan Kramer, a rising senior at Coffee High School, has been awarded the NAMI Georgia Young Leader Award for his outstanding efforts in promoting mental health awareness and support in his community.

 

 

The award, presented by NAMI Georgia, a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to providing education, support, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental illness, recognizes young individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of mental health.

 

 

Ethan received the award at the NAMI Georgia State Convention for his leadership in organizing a World Teen Mental Wellness Day in Douglas and Coffee County as part of his “Today Will Be Better” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. Ethan made a donation of $4500 to NAMI, Georgia as a result of his Today Will Be Better t-shirt sales.

 

 

According to Kim Jones, Executive Director for NAMI Georgia,”We cannot thank you enough Ethan for your hard work, commitment, and dedication to promoting teen mental health. I wanted to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on the tremendous success of your Today Will Be Better Campaign.  We are incredibly proud of you and immensely grateful for the impactful work you are doing.”

 

 

“I am honored to receive this award and grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in my community,” said Ethan Kramer. “I was overwhelmed by the outpouring support of my town and look forward to creating a new t-shirt design for next year’s World Teen Mental Wellness Day.”
