Janice M MacQuinn, age 89, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Mrs. MacQuinn was born on December 27, 1933, in Cambridge, NY to the late Fredrick Fleming, Sr., and the late Helen Moore Fleming.
Janice, a Registered Nurse, received her Master’s Degree from Russell Sage College in Albany, NY. She went on to teach Nursing at South Georgia State College in Douglas, Georgia, until she retired. She then volunteered at the Coffee Regional Medical Center. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Survivors include: Two sons, Kevin (Michele) MacQuinn of Madison, AL, and Robert (Rene’) MacQuinn of Duson, LA; Four Grandchildren, Heather (Chad) Loveland, Justin MacQuinn, Andrew (Alisa) MacQuinn, and Daniel (Aubri) MacQuinn; One Sister, Nancy Taylor of Granville, NY; Five Great Grandchildren, Madison Loveland, Sydney Loveland, Olivia Loveland, Mary Elizabeth MacQuinn, and Alice Koken; also, several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Elmer MacQuinn; Mother, Helen Moore Fleming; Father, Fredrick Fleming, Sr.; Son, David MacQuinn; Brother; Fredrick Fleming Jr. and granddaughter, Jessica MacQuinn.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 29, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 am at the Church. Rev. James Sapp and Rev. Doug Walker will officiate.
