Mr. Jimmy Darrell Merritt, age 66 of Ambrose, GA passed away Saturday afternoon, June 3, 2023 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Merritt was born October 13, 1956 to the late Don Merritt and the late Betty Bostic Merritt. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Frederick Merritt and Michael Merritt. 

 

 

Mr. Merritt was born in Ocilla, GA. He was a farmer by trade. 

 

 

Survivors include; 

 

 

3 Sisters: Bridgette Merritt Wampler of Ambrose, GA 

Dana Flanagan and husband Jackie of Douglas, GA 

CeCe Brigmond and husband Kenneth of Broxton, GA 

 

 

2 Brothers: Joe Merritt and wife Dedra of Douglas, GA 

Anthony Merritt and wife Patsy of Douglas, GA 

 

 

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives 

 

 

The family will receive friends, Monday evening, June 5, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 6, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. The interment will follow at Elam-Harper Cemetery. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
