Johnnie Dianne Merritt Carter, 71

Johnnie Dianne Merritt Carter, age 71, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Ms. Carter was born on June 15, 1951 in Tift County, GA to the late John Mitchell Merritt and Sarepta Elise Cleghorn Merritt.

 

 

Survivors include: One Son; James M. (Lyndsey) Carter of Alma, GA, One Sister; Sally (Herman) Chaney of Ocilla, GA, One Granddaughter; Ashley (Austen) Cobb of Nicholls, GA, Three Grandsons; Gage Dylan Harris, John Logan Harris, and John Morgan Harris. Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, John Mitchell Merritt and Sarepta Elise Cleghorn Merritt.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:00AM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Reagin officiating. The interment will follow at St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
