Tyler Chambers, a Douglas native, took the daring jump to make music his full time career back in 2015. Now, 8 years later, the 28 year old singer/songwriter is making big moves in the music industry, and his career is growing with each day that passes.

After graduating from Coffee High School in 2013, Tyler attended South Georgia State College and then Georgia Southern University. He states after being at GSU for about a year and a half, he left for Wyoming in 2016. According to Tyler, it was this move to Wyoming and the time spent there that influenced him to pursue his music career full time.

In order to chase this dream to its fullest potential, Tyler states that Nashville, Tennessee “is the place to be.” He decided to make the move to the big city in fall of 2016. “It’s where you gotta be if you want to make it,” says Tyler when asked why he chose to settle down in Nashville.

According to Tyler, a typical week consists of writing songs Monday through Thursday and then performing on some weekends. He says, “Me and my buddies have a Bible study twice a week before writing. I’ll go to the gym, start writing by 10:30 am or 11:00 am, go sing a vocal, go to a meeting, and be home by 5:30 pm.” Some memorable artists he has written with over the years include Dylan Marlowe, Drew Baldridge, Muscadine Bloodline, Josh Phillips, Bryce Mauldin, and more.

Tyler is signed to Play It Again Music Group and has a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music that started in 2021. He also states that he is hoping to sign a booking deal in the near future. With 10 songs released, Tyler has roughly 5 million streams across all platforms and close to 2,000 to 2,500 daily listeners. His song “Kiss Me Like That” was released in 2019 and makes up a whopping 1,027,059 of those streams. Tyler’s most recent single, released on May 19 of this year called “Dirt Roads for Days,” has already reached 45,045 streams in a little over 3 weeks. New music is in the works for Tyler as well, with “Loves Me Like a Small Town” dropping in July, and a project with roughly 5 songs coming out in the fall or spring.

When asked about his most memorable performance to date, he says, “The Martin Centre in Douglas was probably my favorite.” As he recalls, that was a busy but exciting weekend. Performing at The Blue Room in Statesboro on Friday, April 28, and then in Douglas at the Martin Centre on Saturday April 29, Tyler says, “It really was the best weekend.”

When asked what he enjoys most about singing and songwriting, Tyler shares, “I’m trying to be something that well represents the way I grew up. I’m very passionate about my roots, and I want people to be proud of where they came from.” Chasing a dream like this takes a lot of support and drive, and for Tyler, that comes from “family, friends, and God.” He states, “It’s not easy, so you have to find it within yourself, but at the same time it takes a village.” According to Tyler, he is very thankful for the support from his family and friends over the course of this journey.

Signing a record deal in the next couple of years, being able to perform at least 100 shows a year, and “making a good living” to provide for a family, are just a few great goals Tyler aims to achieve in the near future.
