Dr. Jeffery Silveira, a beloved local physician, passed away peacefully last night with his family by his side.

Last month, Dr. Silveira suffered a major heart attack. While he survived the initial incident and fought a courageous battle to regain his health, he never fully recovered and had been hospitalized since.

Dr. Silveira, a board certified otolaryngologist, operated the Ear, Nose, & Throat Clinic of Coffee County along with Dr. David Martini. Thursday morning, the following post was made to the Ear, Nose, & Throat Clinic’s Facebook page:

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Dr. Jeffrey Louis Silveira, Sr. He passed away peacefully this evening with his family by his side. We are deeply saddened by this loss, but find solace in knowing that he is now at rest and home with Jesus.

“Jeff was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with his kindness, warmth, and infectious smile. He leaves behind a irreplaceable void in our hearts and a lasting impact on the lives of his family, friends, staff members, countless patients and community members.

“He will be remembered for his unwavering generosity, his love for his wife Hope, being with his children, grandchildren, family and doggies and passion for the ocean and traveling. And of course his ability to bring joy to those around him, especially with his infamous humor of bad dad jokes. He was an extraordinary individual, excelling as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, loyal friend, supportive brother, and exceptional boss. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.

“During this difficult time, we would appreciate your support and kind words. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this loss. Your love and condolences mean the world to us.

“A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held in Douglas, GA and he will be placed to rest with his parents in California. We invite you to join us as we remember and honor the wonderful person he was. Additional details will be shared in the coming days.

“We will forever treasure the moments we shared with Jeff. May he find eternal peace and may his spirit continue to inspire us all.”
