On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, three men with illegal drugs and guns pulled into the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office. According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, two Fitzgerald Police Officers walked by the vehicle the three men were in. They smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. They contacted Ben Hill deputies which led to the arrests of the three men.
One of the individuals, Leroy Johnson, was wanted out of Glynn County for Simple Battery. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon, possession firearm in the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and crossing guard line with dangerous drugs.
Terrell Carmen was charged with possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of tools for the commission of a crime (two counts), and crossing guard lines with dangerous drugs.
Shaheed Muhammad was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of fa irearm in the commission of a crime, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of tools for commission of a crime (two counts), and crossing guard lines with dangerous drugs.
They were booked into the Ben Hill County Jail.
