Mrs. Marie Allen Smith, age 86 of Douglas, GA, passed away late Thursday evening, June 15, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born November 29, 1936 to the late Carl Allen and the late Amanda Lawson Allen. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Children: Margaret Elaine Fletcher and Gary Hendrix Smith. 

 

 

Mrs. Smith was a native of Kite, GA. She had formerly owned a flower shop and then became a full time homemaker. She was a member of Southview Church of God 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

Her Husband: Floyd Elton Smith of Douglas, GA 

 

 

8 Children: Sherry and Alan Daniell of New Ellenton, SC 

Mike Fletcher of Byron, GA 

Judy Harper of Douglas, GA 

Dudley Mullis and wife Gloria of Ambrose, GA 

Wendell Smith and wife Brenda of Douglas, GA 

Rodney Elton Smith and wife Sheila of West Green, GA 

John Dexter Smith of West Green, GA 

Willis Randall Smith of West Green, GA 

 

 

Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other relatives 

 

 

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, June 18, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

The funeral service will be Monday afternoon, June 19, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Southview Church of God with Bishop Byron Griffis officiating. Bro. Nick Gardner will present a eulogy. The interment will follow at Calvary Full Gospel Cemetery near West Green. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Robert Wright, Michael Joyce, Randy Sprinkle, Terry Revels, Rusty King and Maurice Stitt. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
