A Douglas man is in jail after allegedly breaking in and trashing his ex-girlfriend’s house.
According to an incident report from the sheriff’s office, the incident took place on June 21. However, the suspect, Anthony Droll, 31, of Douglas, wasn’t arrested until July 6.
The report states that on June 21, the victim reported that Droll had broken into her house, “destroyed” it, and also damaged her vehicle in the backyard. While he was at the house, the report states, Droll took five birth certificates and one death certificate from the home.
The victim reported that two days before this incident took place, Droll had come to her house and “jumped on her in the yard.” However, she did not call police. She did leave and had been staying at another location.
Droll had called the victim, the report says, and said he was coming to the home to see his child. After that call, neighbors reported seeing Droll at the home. Around 7 p.m. on June 21, the victim went back to the house and saw the damage. The officer reported that he walked through the house and saw damage. Paint had been poured on the floor and on clothing inside the house. The victim’s car had sustained damage to back glass, driver’s side window, windshield, and both passenger’s side windows.
A neighbor said he had given Droll a ride when he was ready to leave the house. The officer looked at the neighbor’s vehicle and noticed paint in the passenger’s seat that matched the color of the paint that had been poured inside the home.
The officer searched for Droll at two homes he was known to visit. However, he was not there. Droll was eventually arrested on July 6 and booked into the Coffee County Jail on burglary and criminal damage to property charges. He has not been released.
