Brock Higgins, an 11-year-old Douglas native who is competing in the USA Mullet Championship, has made it to round 2 and needs your help to keep going. This nationwide competition allows contestants like Brock Higgins prove they have the most rockin’ mullet. The USA Mullet Championship is also taking donations for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors to help United States Military veterans.
Concluding round 1, Brock ranked at number 16 out of around 300 other mullet-sporting kids in his age group. The rankings for round 1 were based on the combined score from fan voting and donations. Now for round 2, the competition is turning it up a notch.
To kick off round 2, fan votes will start back at zero. However, the donations will continue to rack up for each contestant. In addition to fan voting and donations, three judges will be scoring each contestant’s mullet which will also go towards their overall score. It has been noted by the USA Mullet Championship that fan voting still holds more weight in determining the final scores.
Voting for round 2 for Brock’s age group will take place from Thursday, July 20 to Monday, July 24. According to the USA Mullet Championship, after round 2, the competition will take the top 25 kids with the highest scores to continue on to the finals.
