Solid Waste Director arrested on theft charges

Chris Knight, 51, formerly the Coffee County Solid Waste Director, has been arrested for allegedly stealing $8,278.50 from the Solid Waste Department.

 

 

A spokesperson for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement Monday afternoon: “The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from County Administrator Wesley Vickers Friday afternoon regarding an incident with the solid waste director. After a brief investigation, our officers determined that a theft had indeed occurred. As a result, Christopher Knight was arrested and charged with theft by taking. This case remains under investigation.”

 

 

Knight was booked into the Coffee County Jail on Friday and released on bond.
