Officers from the Coffee County Drug Unit did a little clean up around the George Washington Carver Freshman Campus right before the start of school.
On July 28, officers from the drug unit arrested Danqwaz Bailey, 33, at 910 MLK Drive in Douglas — just 207 feet from the freshman campus — on a variety of drug charges. The officers executed a search warrant at the residence and found 216 grams of a suspected cocaine-based substance, 170 grams of suspected marijuana, suspected drug manufacturing equipment, and suspected drug distribution proceeds were located.
As a result, Bailey was arrested for the following charges: trafficking in cocaine, manufacturing a controlled substance (crack cocaine), possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, manufacturing a controlled substance near a school, distributing a controlled substance near a school, and possession and use of drug related objects.
Bailey was transported to the Coffee County Jail where he remains.
