On Tuesday, July 25, officers responded to Fleetwood Homes in Douglas regarding someone allegedly entering another individual’s vehicle. Upon arrival, the victim reported to the officer that $238 was missing from his truck and that there was video footage of 58-year-old Kelvin Freeman entering his Chevy Silverado. According to the report, the officer was able to confirm through the surveillance video that Freeman did in fact walk to the individual’s truck and open the passenger door.
With this information, the officer headed to Freeman’s residence where officers confronted him about entering the individual’s truck at Fleetwood. As stated in the report, Freeman admitted to being at work that day and stated to the officer that he did enter the individual’s truck. However, according to Freeman, he only took $20 from the vehicle rather than the $238 the owner of the truck stated was missing.
Kelvin Freeman was arrested and taken to the Coffee County Jail. He was charged with entering an auto with intent to commit theft or felony and has since been released.
