Jerry Bascom Jordan, age 77, of McAlpin, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 3, at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL, following a brief illness. Jerry was born on July 23,1946 in Douglas, Georgia, to Herbert and Bernelle Jordan.

 

 

After he graduated from Broxton High School in 1964, he served in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969.  Returning home from Vietnam, he continued his education at South Georgia College and Valdosta State University. He joined the Douglas Police Department, serving several years. Jerry worked for large companies across Georgia, North Carolina and Florida up until his retirement.  He then enjoyed golfing, photography and traveling to Civil War battle sites.

 

 

Preceding him in death were his parents Herbert & Bernelle Jordan and brother Andy Jordan.

 

 

Jerry is survived by:

 

 

3 sons & 1 daughter:

Clay Collier (Heather) of Broxton, GA

Pia Morris (Tom) of Selah, WA

Josh Jordan of Douglas, GA

Jeb Jordan of Douglas, GA

 

 

Six Grandchildren:

Walker (Kara) Bennett of Broxton, GA

Matthew (Kristen) Collier of Douglas, GA

David (Sarah) Morris of Selah, WA

Jonathan Morris of Moxee, WA

Abigail Morris of Selah, WA

Jack Jordan of Douglas, GA

 

 

Two Great Grandchildren:

Landon Collier of Douglas, GA

Maverick Morris of Selah, WA

 

 

Jerry is also survived by his brother, Wayne Jordan, and his family.

 

 

There will be a memorial service on August 19 at Reedy Branch Baptist Church at 2 pm in Broxton.
