Jarmall “Chris Rock” Jackson is in the Coffee County Jail on simple battery and criminal trespass charges stemming from an incident that took place on July 25. At the time of his arrest, Jackson had an active aggravated assault warrant as well.
The July 25 incident took place on North Pearl Avenue. According to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department, the initial call came in just before 9 a.m. and was in reference to someone making threats. Before the responding officer arrived, another officer told him that the person who allegedly made the threats was Jackson, who had a county warrant for aggravated assault.
When the officer arrived, he saw Jackson standing outside the home with several women. The report says that Jackson ran into the house then went out the back door. The officer went after him. Another officer yelled at him to stop but he refused, the report states.
Jackson jumped a fence and ran to East Wilson Street. There, he ran into a house the door of which was unlocked. The homeowner was there and, according to the report, Jackson sat down on a couch and told him to be quiet. The homeowner punched Jackson because, the report says, he didn’t know who Jackson was. The two started “to tussle out the door,” at which point an officer saw Jackson. The chase didn’t end; Jackson ran toward Wilson Street and North Pearl Avenue. Officers were unable to find him.
About a week later, however, on August 3, Jackson was arrested and jailed. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.
This was was the fourth time since July of 2022 that Jackson has been arrested. He was arrested in July of last year after he allegedly choked a man in the front seat of a car. Someone recorded the incident and posted in on social media. Jackson was later arrested on battery charges after he allegedly got into a fight with a man in September. Then, in December, he was arrested following a domestic dispute when officers discovered he had a bench warrant stemming from his other brushes with the law.
