American Legion Post 515 has teamed up with Tidal Wave Auto Spa and Wreaths Across America for its 15th annual Charity Day. American Legion Post 515 will receive 50 percent of all proceeds made at the Tidal Wave location in Douglas on September 15 from 8:00am to 9:00pm. Members of American Legion Post 515 will be on site to accept donations from anyone who comes through the car wash and feels led to donate. These donations will go towards the annual Wreaths Across America event.

This year, on Saturday, December 16, American Legion Post 515 will take part in Wreaths Across America, as they have for many years now. Flags and wreaths will be placed on over 3,000 veterans’ graves at 77 cemeteries across Coffee County, with 800 veterans being located at the Douglas City Cemetery alone. The fundraising goal that American Legion Post 515 has set for Wreaths Across America 2023 has not been met, which is why the post is encouraging all who can donate to do so. They are approximately $28,000 short of their $55,000 goal. Without these funds, American Legion Post 515 cannot honor the local veterans who have passed. It is with these generous donations that American Legion Post 515 is able to fund the annual event and provide flags and wreaths to honor the veterans. All donations for this year’s event are due by November 1.

Wreath sponsorship is $17 each. If you would like to donate to this year’s Wreaths Across America event, you can mail a monetary donation to American Legion Post 515, Inc. P.O. Box 2094, Douglas, GA 31534. (Put Wreaths Across America on the memo line of checks.) You can also send a venmo to @AmericanLegionPost515 or reach out to Commander and Wreaths Across America Coordinator, Jerome Loving, at 912-592-6413. He can also make arrangements to pick up donations.
