Mr. Henry Grady Carver, Sr. age 84 of Douglas, GA, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 3, 2023 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL following a short illness. Mr. Carver was born July 23, 1939 is the late Alfred Carver and the late Ruby Batten Carver. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Siblings: Wilbert Carver, Lebern Carver and Fannie Ruth Harper and 1 Daughter: Pamela Dawn Wood. 

 

 

Mr. Carver, a native of Coffee County, was a retired Walmart truck driver and he was also a certified police officer. He was a member of St. Illa Baptist Church and had served on the cemetery committee for a number of years. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His Wife of 51 Years: Frances Stone Carver of Douglas, GA 

 

 

6 Children: Corey Carver and wife Ginny of Douglas, GA 

Kenneth Carver and wife Renee of Waycross, GA 

Gordon Carver and wife Sandra of Broxton, GA 

Henry Grady Carver, Jr. and wife “Bill” of Douglas, GA 

Kelly Ray and husband Gerald of Douglas, GA 

Debra Gillis and husband Ashley of Douglas, GA 

 

 

16 Grandchildren 24 Great Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends 

 

 

The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening, September 6, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday morning, September 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Reagin and Rev. Joey Copeland officiating. The interment will follow at St. Illa Cemetery. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Jonathan Carver, Brandon Carver, Logan Gillis, Seth Ray, Ryan Ray and Chance Greene. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
