The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening event for The Conner Group for Pediatric Therapies on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. This significant occasion marked the expansion of The Conner Group, a provider of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, to a new location in Douglas.

The Conner Group for Pediatric Therapies, led by the dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst Teresa Conner, has been making a profound impact on the lives of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) since its inception. Initially established as a clinic in 2019 in Tifton, Teresa Conner’s journey in the field of ABA therapy actually began in Douglas in 2015, providing in-home and school ABA therapy services to children in our community.

Motivated by a commitment to address the unmet needs of the special needs community in rural areas of Georgia, The Conner Group for Pediatric Therapies has expanded its services to Douglas-Coffee County, becoming its third location alongside Tifton and Albany. During the grand opening event, Chelsea Preston, Member Relations Director at the Chamber, extended a warm welcome and introduced the proceedings. Pastor Bob Powell of The Sanctuary delivered a heartfelt invocation, emphasizing blessings and goodwill. Charlie Davis, City Manager for the City of Douglas, expressed gratitude to Teresa Conner for choosing Douglas-Coffee County as the home for her third location, recognizing the significant investment in the community.

Matt Seale, CEO of the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber and Economic Development Authority, acknowledged the importance of community collaboration and welcomed The Conner Group for Pediatric Therapies as an invaluable partner. He referred to the Chamber as “the gathering table,” underscoring the pivotal role it plays in fostering partnerships and development within the community.

Teresa Conner, owner and operator of The Conner Group for Pediatric Therapies, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception the community provided. She said, “Opening an office in Douglas has been by far the smoothest office opening we have had yet, and it is because of the warm welcome that this community has given us since day one. Community is very important to The Conner Group. We participate in many outreach programs and love to pour back into the communities that we serve. We are so excited to be in Coffee County as we feel like this wonderful community is where everything began for us.”

The Conner Group for Pediatric Therapies is dedicated to offering high-quality ABA therapy services to children with ASD, ensuring they receive the resources and support they need to thrive. With their expansion into Douglas-Coffee County, the organization continues its mission to positively impact the lives of families and children throughout Georgia.
