Entering Friday night’s game against the Salem Seminoles from Conyers, the Coffee Trojans were on a five-game winning streak over the Seminoles going back to 2018. During that span, the Trojans had outscored the Seminoles 251-14. The last three years, Salem had not scored a point.

You can extend that streak to four years and make that point differential 309-14. Coffee defeated Salem 58-0 at Jardine Stadium to improve their record to 4-0 with one more non-region game remaining — a contest against the 7A Richmond Hill Wildcats on the road next Friday.

Running back Fred Brown scored three touchdowns while receivers Pat McCall and Anthony Paulk, and running backs Tyrese Hansley, KJ DeBruce, and Zean Preston scored one touchdown apiece. Kicker Jonah Saylor was a perfect 8-8 on extra points. Additionally, the Trojans notched a safety when a snap sailed over the head of Salem quarterback Josiah Warner’s head and out of the end zone.

The Coffee defense kept the shutout tradition alive and the seniors on this defense can say that the Seminoles never scored any points against them.

Next week, the Trojans will face a formidable non-region foe in the Wildcats, who are 4-1 on the season and riding a three-game winning streak. Friday, Richmond Hill defeated the New Hampstead (Savannah) Phoenix 28-26.
