Ellen S. Owens, age 96, of Douglas, GA, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Owens was born on June 11, 1927, in Redbank, New Jersey the daughter of the late Mr. Martin Smith and Mrs. Frances Long Smith.

 

 

Survivors include: One Daughter; Vivien (Randall) Parker of Douglas, GA, One Son; Robert (Anna) Owens of New York, Five Grandchildren; Christian (Donna) Martin of Douglas, GA, Cory Parker of Douglas, GA, Jennifer (Eric) McCoy of Charleston, South Carolina, Robert Owens Jr. of New York, Joshua Owens of New York, Several Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews. She was preceded in death by: Her Beloved Husband; Verica “Bob” Owens, Father; Martin Smith, Mother; Frances Long, and several siblings.

 

 

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 12PM until 2PM at Sims Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 2PM, with Rev. Matt Rutland officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Douglas Cemetery.

 

 

The family requests that all donations be made to Bethany Hospice of Douglas, GA.
