Maria Barragan passed away peacefully at Augusta University on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born on April 27, 1989 the daughter of Mr. Gonzalo and Mrs. Carmen Jimenez.

 

 

Maria was described as a goofy person by anyone that got to know her and she always knew how to make you laugh. Yet she was a warrior that battled her illness with so much strength. She met God in the process and gave herself to Him and His will. She will be missed by her daughters and her husband as we lay her down to rest. She made sure to promise to always watch over her girls and whenever you are missing her, or thinking of her, you can find her in the sunsets.

 

 

Survivors include: Her beloved Husband; David Ramirez, Two Daughters; Evelyn Ramirez Barragan, and Jhoselynn Ramirez Barragan, Father; Gonzalo Barragan, Mother; Carmen Jimenez Barragan, Three Brothers; Jesus Barragan, Gabriel Barragan, Moises Barragan, One Sister; Teresa Barragan, along with several nieces and nephews.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, from 6PM until 9PM. Funeral services will be held at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Douglas, GA, on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2PM, with Father Paul O’Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens.
