Melba Ann Carelock, age 79, of Broxton, GA, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, following an extended illness.  Ms. Carelock was born on July 25, 1944, in Wayne County Georgia, to the late James R. Herrin and Minnie Lou Verne Chancy Herrin.

 

 

She is survived by: One Daughter; Dena Carelock of Broxton, GA, One Son; David (Lisa) Carelock of Douglas, GA, One Grandson; Draven Carelock of Douglas, GA, Two Sisters; Barbara Jo (Will) Bowen of Waycross, GA, and Sherry (Arthur) Carter of Waycross, GA, Two Brothers; Ritchie Herrin of Waycross, GA, and Junior (Debbie) Herrin of Blackshear, GA, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; Beloved Husband; D.W. Carelock, Father; James R. Herrin, Mother; Minnie Lou Verne Chancy Herrin, and Two Sisters; Linda Wilson and Sue Nell King.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Sims Funeral Home of Douglas, GA from 10AM until 11AM. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home of Douglas, GA at 11AM with Bro. Dexter Taylor officiating. Interment to follow at Rocky Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
