Mrs. Letrelle Jowers Spires, age 81 of Douglas, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2023. 

 

 

Mrs. Spires was born August 24, 1942 to the late Willie Jowers and the late Fronnie Adams Jowers. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Herbert Spires, 1 Son: Robert W. Musgrove, 2 Sisters: Ruby Smith and Jeanette Swails and 2 Brothers: Bill Jowers and Edward Jowers. 

 

 

Mrs. Spires, a native of Coffee County, had previously lived in Echols County. She had been employed with the Echols County Board of Education as the school lunchroom nutritionist. Mrs. Spires was a member of First Baptist Church of Statenville, GA. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

2 Children: Paul E. Musgrove and wife Mary Lynn of Douglas, GA 

Lee Musgrove and wife Leslie of Thomasville, GA 

 

 

1 Daughter-in-Law: Sandy Musgrove of Douglas, GA 

 

 

2 Sisters: Verneal Nipper and Dot Thompson of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Brother: Danny Jowers of Orange Park, FL 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

 

12 Grandchildren: Winston (Brandy) Musgrove, Brandon (Candi) Musgrove, Adriane (Reeve) Wainright, Jarrett Musgrove, Megan Musgrove, Will (Taylor) Musgrove, Chase Musgrove, Robert (Jessica) Musgrove, Jacob Musgrove, Jenna Musgrove, Timmy (Keisha) Smith and Sonya (Barry) Anderson. 

 

 

18 Great Grandchildren: Braydon Musgrove, Candon Musgrove, Aydon Musgrove, Willow Musgrove, Becklyn Wainright, Bella Musgrove, Lacey Musgrove, Lyndsey Musgrove, Addisyn Corbett, Macyn Corbett, Lydia Musgrove, Bryson Musgrove, Garrett Kelly, Finn Anderson, Mandy Mauldin, Austin Mauldin, Alyssa Graham and Thomas Graham 

 

 

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, September 25, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, September 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiating. The interment will follow at Chatterton Grove Cemetery. 

 

 

The Pallbearers for the service will be: Winston Musgrove, Brandon Musgrove, Robert Musgrove, Jacob Musgrove, Jarrett Musgrove, Will Musgrove and Chase Musgrove 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
