Mr. Roy Cato, age 75 of Broxton, GA passed away at his residence on October 15, 2023. Mr. Cato was born December 11, 1947 to the late Alva Lee Cato and the late Louise “Lou” Todd Cato. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Larry Cato and a sister: Betty Joyce Cato. 

 

 

Mr. Cato, a native of Coffee County, had been a truck driver and mechanic with Joseph Campbell and Pilgram’s Pride for a number of years. He retired in 2014. He was a member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His wife: Virginia Gail Sanderson Cato of Broxton, GA 

 

 

1 Son: Adam (Leigh) Cato of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Sister: Francis (Fred) Harkleroad of Broxton, GA 

 

 

1 Brother: Ronnie (Betty) Cato of East Brewton, AL 

 

 

2 Grandchildren: Alexis Cato (Becca) of Union Point, GA 

Logan (Taylor) Hartley of Tennille, GA 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends 

 

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, October 18, 2023 at 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, October 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Miller and Rev. Den Weniger officiating. The interment will follow at Reedy Branch Cemetery near Broxton. 

 

 

Pallbearers for the service will be: Marshall Knight, John Moore, Greg Carter, Bruce Cato, Jeff Sumner, Scott Whitley and Corey Hutto. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
