Ms. Patricia I. “Patti” Nugent, age 83 of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away October 4, 2023, at Trustbridge Hospice in Palm Beach Gardens. Ms. Nugent was born October 15, 1939 in Alma, Georgia to the late Willie S. Nugent and the late Gladys Bennett Nugent. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Chris Nugent and Tony Nugent.
Following her graduation from Coffee County High School in 1957, Ms. Nugent graduated from St. Joseph’s Infirmary School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia. She obtained the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Health Occupations Education and Master of Science in Vocational Education from Florida International University. Ms. Nugent made Palm Beach Gardens, Florida her home where she worked and served her community in many ways. She served as a registered nurse, director of the North Technical Education Center, president of the Florida Vocational Association, and president of the Health Occupations Educators Association of Florida. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor to many who will fondly remember her scrumptious brownies and the delicious pineapples she harvested. She loved her family, friends, and many dogs throughout the years and will be fondly remembered for her incredible smile and infectious laugh. Ms. Nugent was a lifelong devout Catholic and dedicated Godparent to a number of children.
Survivors Include: Three Brothers: Jerome (Sue Ellen) Nugent of Jacksonville, FL, Mike (Martha Ray) Nugent of Willachoochee, GA and Greg Nugent of Douglas, GA, Two sisters: Ann (Don) Fussell of Wedowee, AL, Frances (Vick) Martin of Waycross, GA and one Sister-in-law: Jo Ann Harper Nugent of Ambrose, GA. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Ms. Nugent on Saturday, October 14 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willacoochee, Georgia with Father Paul O’Connell presiding. Interment will follow at the Holy Family Cemetery.
While flowers are welcome, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church, National Student Nurses’ Association Scholarship Fund or your favorite charity.
