Mr. Ashley Carver, age 73 of Ambrose, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, October 24, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Carver was born September 3, 1950 to the late Ivey Carver and the late Louise Merritt Carver. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 Brothers: Alvin Carver, Curtis Carver and Kenny Carver.

 

 

Mr. Carver, a native of Ambrose, GA, had been a service tech for Fleetwood and had also worked at Douglas Sign Company in recent years. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

His wife of 50 years: Sherry Walker Carver of Ambrose, GA

 

 

2 Children: Nina Ashley Corbitt and husband Myles of Pearson, GA
Shelley Cole and husband Fred of Ambrose, GA

 

 

3 Brothers: Tillman Carver of Jacksonville, FL
Earl Carver of Ambrose, GA
J. W. Carver and wife Myra of Ambrose, GA

 

 

2 Sisters: Kathy Key and husband Marvin of Douglas, GA
Linda Brown and husband Irwin of Ambrose, GA

 

 

5 Grandchildren: Ivee Cole of Orlando, FL
Addison Cole of Douglas, GA
Ray Corbitt and Carley Corbitt both of Peason, Ga
Emme Cole of Ambrose, GA

 

 

A special friend: Josh Hasledon of Douglas, GA

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, October 27, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

 

The funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Restoration Church with Rev. Stacey Carver and Rev. Willie Wilson officiating. The interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery.

 

 

Pallbearers for the service will be: Brent Rucker, Edsel Lewis, Barry Foster, Junior Carver, Blake Carver, Steve Carver, Josh Haselden and Blaine Carver.

 

 

Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be: Willie and Lynn Wilson, Marilyn Richardson, Junior and Vivian Solomon, Austin and Jessica Medders, Staff of CRMC Infusion Center, Dr. Erick Anderson, Dawn Wright and staff, and lifetime softball friends.

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
