Austin Matthew Smith, age 30, of Douglas, GA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. He was born on January 23, 1993, the son of Matthew Lee Smith and Taraney Linnea Lee.

 

 

His survivors include: Wife; Madison Elizabeth Montgomery Smith of Douglas, GA, Father; Matthew Lee (Tracey) Smith of Axson, GA, Mother; Taraney Linnea Lee of Broxton, GA, One Daughter, One Brother; Gabe (Ali) Smith of Douglas, GA, Three Sisters; Aryn (Kody) Lee of Broxton, GA, Bailee Smith (Dustin) Jordan of Douglas, GA, and Alyssa Lee (Avery) Taylor of Douglas, GA, Grandmother; Brenda (Jack Stripling) Smith of Douglas, GA, Grandmother; Deborah (Lane) Bailey, Several Nieces and Nephews.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 6PM until 9PM, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 2PM, at The Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, with Bro. Scott Smith and Bro. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

Active Pallbearers include: Kaleb Smith, Chris Stone, Kody Burch, Coltin Bailey, Avery Taylor and Rashad Thomas.

 


Honorary Pallbearers include: Fern Bank employees, Gabe Smith, Richard Payne, Steven Gomez, Craig LePage and Jack Stripling.

 

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
