Mr. Edwin Earl Millard, Jr., age 89, of Douglas, GA passed away early Wednesday, November 29, 2023 following a lengthy illness.

 

Mr. Millard was born Wednesday, June 20, 1934 in Lincoln Park, Michigan, to the late Edwin Earl Millard, Sr. and Helen Marie Lamb Millard. Mr. Millard was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Southview Church of God and was strong in his faith, spending much time in prayer. In earlier years Mr. Millard made his career as a miner in salt mines. In his later years he enjoyed working out in his yard. In addition to his parents, Mr. Millard was preceded in death by 2 granddaughters: Rebekah Daniels and Jaime Millard; 2 great granddaughters: Lainie Millard and Andrea Millard; and 1 step-daughter: Dana Hersey Washburn .

 

 

Mr. Millard is survived by his wife of 7 years: Ann Key Millard of Douglas, GA;

 

 

Children:

 

Steven Millard and wife Kathy of Battle Creek, MI,
Edwin Earl Millard, III and wife Sharon of Lincoln Park MI,
Cindy M. Gozalka and husband Norm of Williamston, MI,
Penny M. Daniels and husband Robert and their daughter Jennifer D. Stark all of Taylor, MI;

 

 

Step-Children:

 

David Hersey and wife Lori of Douglas, GA,
Debbie H. Lopez and husband Tony of SC,
Christi H. Batten and husband Michael of Douglas, GA;

Siblings:

Richard Millard of Hale, MI,
Gloria M. Davis of Lawrenceburg, KY,
Barbara M. Lau of Carleton, MI;

 

 

10 grandchildren;

 

 

19 Great-Grandchildren; and

 

 

1 Great Great Grandchild.

 

 

Several nieces, nephews and many friends also survive.

 

 

The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 4, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ricketson Funeral Home chapel.

 

 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, December 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Ricketson Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Glen Fussell officiating. Interment will follow in Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church cemetery.

 

 

Active pallbearers will be: Allen Patton, Jose Washburn, Kasey Sheldon, Adam Washburn, and Shawn Mangeot.
