Mrs. Janice Pearl Woodard Acorn, age 61 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. Mrs. Acorn was born January 2, 1962 in Tampa, FL to the late Hampton Worth Woodard and the late Dorothy Mae Mathis Woodard. She was preceded in death by parents: Dorothy and Archie Kight and Hampton Woodard; 1 Daughter: Lacey Stewart; 1 Son-In-Law: Jeremy Harrell; 2 Brothers: Roger Long, Harris Long; and 1 Nephew: Blake Day.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

Husband of 35 years: Jesse Joseph “Trae” Acorn III of Douglas, GA;

 

 

2 Children: Heather A. Harrell and Andrew Hattaway of Eagan, MN,
Ashley Courson of Wray, GA;

 

 

4 Grandchildren: Adalea Hattaway,
Halley Harrell,
Hensley Hattaway,
Ava Grace Courson;

 

 

2 Sisters: Susan W. Buchan and husband, Keith of Wray, GA,
Teresa W. McCook and husband, Grif of Douglas, GA;

 

 

1 Brother-In-Law: Randy Day of Callahan, FL;

 

 

Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

 

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening, November 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Bounds and Rev. Craig Jump officiating. The interment will follow in the Calvary Full Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery in West Green, GA with Bishop Britt Peavy officiating.

 

 

Active pallbearers will be: Steven Acorn, Phillip Acorn, William Rish, Gage Aldridge, Jay Long, and Jordan Buchan. Honorary pallbearers will be: Randy Day, Keith Buchan, Zach Minard, Grif McCook, Randy Rish, and Billy Rish.

 

 

Condolences may be left for the family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.
