Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Harrison Sheffield, age 74 of Douglas, passed away at Vista Park Health and Rehabilitation on Sunday morning, October 29, 2023. Mrs. Sheffield was born March 6, 1949 to the late James Ray Harrison, Sr. and the late Ramona Hogan Harrison. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: John Patton, a sister: Vicki Lomax and a brother Ricky Harrison and a nephew, Mark Harrison.

 

 

Mrs. Sheffield was a native of Traer, Iowa. She had lived in Douglas for many years. Mrs. Sheffield was a supervisor for Elixir Industries and she was also a member of Franklin Holiness Baptist Church.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

4 Nephews: Ricky and Tracy Lomax of Douglas, GA
Jonathan and Melissa Lomax of Douglas, GA
Stacey and Lisa Lomax of Iowa
Steven and Yolanda Harrison of Brunswick, GA

 

 

1 Niece: Christy Lomax of Iowa
“Little” Lisa Harrison of Iowa

 

 

1 Brother: Jimmy and Betty Harrison of Iowa

 

 

1 Special Cousin: Harry Harrison of Vinton, Iowa

 

 

3 Step-Children: Michelle and Jake Mizell of Douglas, GA
Lonnie and Casey Smith of Douglas, GA
Tracy and Ricky Lomax of Douglas, GA

 

 

Special Friends: Floyd and Alice Duke of Douglas, GA
Margaret and Mike Belk of Douglas, GA

 

 

Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.

 

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

 

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Darren Wilson and Rev. Drake Lomax officiating. The interment will follow at the City of Douglas Cemetery.

 

 

The pallbearers for the service will be grandsons: Blake Smith, Dylan Lomax, Austin Tillman, Hunter Lomax, Acey Mizell, Granger Mizell, Logan Smith and Cody Smith.

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
