Shirley Burnam Adams, 87

Shirley Burnam Adams, age 87, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Ms. Adams was born on January 23, 1936 to the late Leroy Burnam and Stella Mae Stone Burnam.

 

 

Survivors include: Two Daughters; Donna (Tom) McDaniel of Athens, GA, and Karen (Ben) Huhuley,Two Grandchildren, Richard Bryant James, Byron Troyn Gibson III, Two Great Grandchildren; Hunter Mason James, and Claire Lynne Morton, along with Several Nieces and Nephews. Ms. Adams was preceded in death by: Two Brothers; Billy Joe Burnam, Kenneth (PeeWee) Burnam, One Sister; Carolyn Johnson, and One Grandchild; Katherine Elaine (Katee) Thomas.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Sims Funeral Home, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home, at 2:00PM with Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiating. The interment will follow at Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

Active Pallbearers will be: Ken Burnam, Kevin Burnam, Brad Burnam, Ricky James, Byron Gibson, and Hunter James.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
