Virginia S. Howard, age 83, of Douglas Georgia, passed away peacefully at Harberview, in Tifton Georgia, on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born on December 3, 1939 in Douglas, Georgia, the daughter of Henry Emmett Solomon and Hannah Mae Wright Solomon.

 

 

Survivors include: Two Daughters; Vicki Denise Burkes, and Cynthia Diane Richardson, One Son; Autrey DeWayne Richardson and Wife Diana Richardson , One Sister; Ima Jean Tetter, One Brother; Henry E. Solomon Jr., Eight Grandchildren; Scott D. (Christina) Mercier Sr., Brian D. (Linda) Mercier, Tiffany (Harry) McHenry, Jeremy D. Mercier, Sheena (Josh) Bass, Daniel (Karyn) Hersey, Brittney (R.J.) Hubler, and Dylan Richardson, Twenty-Three Great-Grandchildren, Nine Great-Great Grandchildren,Several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in Death by: Beloved Husband; Robert Howard, Father; Henry Emmett Solomon, Mother; Hannah Mae Wright Solomon, One Sister; Marjorie Chaney, One Brother; Joe D. Solomon, and One Grandson; Autrey Richardson II.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia, from 6PM until 8PM.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia, at 4PM, with Bro. Cliff Kirkland officiating.

 

 

Active Pallbearers include: Scott Mercier Sr., Scott Mercier Jr., Brian Mercier Sr., Gavin Mercier, Caiden Mercier, Pete Richardson, and Jeremy Mercier.

 

 

The honorary pallbearer is Corey White.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
