Mr. Homer Lee Justice, age 84, of Douglas died at his residence Thursday morning, November 30, 2023.
Mr. Justice, a native of Coffee County, was born Sunday, October 29, 1939 in Broxton, GA to the late Jack Justice and the late Alma Cato Justice. He made his career at Coffee Regional Medical Center in the maintenance department where he retired after 23 years of dedicated service. Mr. Justice was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was an avid gardener who loved to work in his yards and make things grow. He was an active member of Providence Baptist Church for 20 years where he served on the Cemetery Committee. In earlier years he was active in Broxton Church of God for many years. Along with his parents Mr. Justice was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Carl Justice, Clifford Justice, Frank Justice; and 4 sisters: Vermel J. Kelley, Mildred J. Willis, Sue J. Blankenship, and Marilyn J. Seebeck.
Mr. Justice is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda D. Justice of Douglas, GA;
2 Children: Amy Hursey and husband Kevin of West Green, GA,
Sabrina Harper and Davin of Jasper, GA;
4 Grandchildren: Kaemon, Kristian, Dylan, Courtney;
3 Step-Grandchildren: Marisa, Jeree, DJ and
1 Step-Great Granddaughter: Melody who loved to call him “Papi Homer”.
Several nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be: Brandon Rish, Kevin Hursey, Kendall Hursey, Kaemon Hursey Davin Harper and Dylan Porter.
Honorary Pallbearer will be: Kristian Hursey.
