Post-season accolades are rolling in for the 2023 state champion Coffee Trojans.
The All-Region teams were announced Friday afternoon and 26 Trojans were named. Additionally, senior running back Fred Brown is Region 1-5A Player of the Year while head coach Mike Coe was named Region 1-5A Coach of the Year.
Five Trojans made the All-Region First Team Offense. Seven more were named First Team Defense.
Here are the players on the First Team Offense: Quarterback Maurice Hansley, running back Tyrese Hansley, H-back Brady Shook, and linemen Jerbazion Grant and Kyler Smith.
The First Team Defense includes ends Larenzo Harvey and Elgie Paulk, linebackers Jyarius Carter and Jatavious Williams, and defensive backs Anthony Paulk, Isiah Johnson, and Tyriq Edwards.
Players named All-Region Honorable Mention are receivers Pat McCall, James Jarrard, and Bray Coe; H-back Range Robinson; linemen Gabe Rewis, Tico Smith Jr., and Glentavius Turner; nose guard Iverson Gifford; linebackers Chris Reed and Mykevius Smith; defensive backs Jaquavious Simpkins and Jayden Hancock; kicker Jonah Saylor; and punter Michale Smith.
The 2023 Trojans finished the season a perfect 15-0 in Coach Coe’s second year at the helm. They defeated the Creekside Seminoles 31-14 in the state championship game Wednesday afternoon.
