The South Georgia State College Hawks remain unbeaten in GCAA conference play following a 64-52 win over East Georgia State Saturday afternoon. The win stretches SGSC’s current winning streak to six games.

Jo Jo Bell (13 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals) and Kyric Davis (13 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, six steals, and six blocked shots) led SGSC’s scoring. Jordan Moore finished with 11 points.

It was a sluggish afternoon offensively for the Hawks, as they shot 44 percent from the field and made only two three-pointers (20 percent). SGSC also struggled from the free throw line, making 12-of-23 shots (52 percent).

SGSC grabbed a total of 54 rebounds during the game, including 38 defensive rebounds. The Hawks forced 20 turnovers, 15 of which were steals.

The Hawks will be on the road for two conference games before returning to the Waycross Campus Saturday, Feb. 10 to face South Georgia Tech. Tip for the Feb. 10 game is set for 4 p.m.

The SGSC athletic department has announced a change in ticket pricing for home basketball games. All regular season home games are now $7 with children five and under admitted free.
