Ronnie Anderson, 79, of Hahira passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. 

He was born on October 31, 1944, in Douglas, GA, to the late Joe and Robinell Anderson. Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army, having served one tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Ronnie lived the majority of his life as a resident of Douglas, GA, where he proudly served as City Commissioner of Ward 5 for twenty-seven years. He was also a successful sales associate and business owner who had been retired since 2006. Ronnie was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Valdosta. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and his church friends. He loved watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Coffee High Trojans, and he rarely missed a game.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sheila Morris Anderson of Hahira, one daughter, Paige (Robby) Bidwell of Jasper, GA, one son, Jayson (Kristy) Anderson of Valdosta, GA, and three grandchildren: Bren (Ethan) Bidwell of Augusta, GA, Broc Bidwell of Buies Creek, NC, and Drew Anderson of Auburn, AL. Ronnie is also survived by his sister, Margie (Richard) Brigmond of Alma, GA, and brother, David (Evelyn) Anderson of Cottageville, SC. He also has several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anderson is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Robinell Anderson of Douglas, GA, and his brother J.V. Anderson, also of Douglas, GA.

Services for Ronnie Anderson will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Morningside Baptist Church in Valdosta: visitation will begin at 9:30 AM with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
