Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) recently celebrated the achievement of Hannah Wilcox, a registered nurse at CMRC, as the recipient of the DAISY Award for the fourth quarter of 2023. Hannah’s dedication to exceptional patient care earned her this recognition, as she consistently goes above and beyond in her role.

Hannah’s journey in healthcare began as a CAN/PCT, where her passion for patient care was ignited. She pursued further education, becoming an advanced EMT and using her skills to triage ER patients. Inspired by her experiences, she pursued LPN school and worked diligently in this role for nearly 7 years before achieving her dream of becoming an RN in 2023.

Reflecting on her journey, Hannah expressed, “I’ve always had a deep-seated passion for caring for others, even from a young age. Working in healthcare has always been my calling, and I’m grateful to finally be where I’ve always wanted to be.”

CRMC is privileged to have Hannah as a valued member of our team, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to her for her commitment to compassionate patient care.

Coffee Regional Medical Center would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Hannah and all the nominees for the fourth quarter of 2023. We are grateful to have such an incredible team of caregivers dedicated to caring for our patients. We thank them for all they do daily to care for our patients (and each other) while staying true to Our Purpose; To Serve, To Heal, To Save.

CRMC recognizes extraordinary nurses throughout the year by awarding the DAISY Award. Patients, family members and fellow caregivers can nominate nurses for going above and beyond in their care for patients. On a quarterly basis each nominee is recognized, and one winner is selected.

Created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, the DAISY Foundation honors nurses internationally. Mr. Barnes’s family was positively impacted by the nurses who skillfully and compassionately cared for Patrick during his eight-week hospitalization for a critical illness.

Unfortunately, Mr. Barnes did not survive his illness; however, the nursing care he received when hospitalized profoundly touched his family. The Barnes family wanted a way to honor Patrick and chose to recognize nurses everywhere for their dedication. The DAISY Foundation has been utilized by over 4,500 healthcare facilities and nursing schools in the U.S. and worldwide.

Anyone may nominate nurses, including those outside the organization – patients, family members, and those inside the organization: other nurses, physicians, and other clinicians and staff – anyone who experiences or observes extraordinary and compassionate care.

To nominate a CRMC nurse for the DAISY Award, visit us online at www.CoffeeRegional.org/DAISY. To find out more about the DAISY Foundation, please visit www.DaisyFoundation.org.
