Trudis Andrews, age 90, of West Green, GA passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at her home following an extended illness. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Harry Andrews, of 43 years of marriage. Mrs. Andrews was born December 1, 1933 in Douglas, GA to the late Lovette Burch and Elizabeth Burch.

Trudis was a cashier with Satilla Rural Electric Membership Corporation and retired after 23 years. After retirement Trudis loved to fish and she was known for being able to catch fish when no one else could catch them. She was a dedicated member of West Green Baptist Church where many people enjoyed her dedicated service and awesome cooking.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth Ralph Hursey (Sandra) of West Green, GA and two daughters, Judy Ann Godwin of Midlothian, VA and Kimberly Lott (Charlie) of West Green, GA; Five grandchildren; Kevin Hursey (Amy), Kendall Hursey (Missy), Alex Godwin (Gayle), Derek Godwin (Kendyl), Ashley Thomas (Keegan) and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ralph Hursey, her parents, and her brothers, Cecil Burch, Daniel Burch, Emmett Burch, Earl Burch, Lonie Burch and sisters, Rosa Lee Burch Chaney, Gladys Burch Deaton, Minnie Burch Woods,

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 10AM until 11AM, at Sims Funeral Home

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 11AM, At the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home. The opening prayer will be given by Rev. Casey Wright and Rev. Stan Clough will be officiating the service. Eulogy will be given by grandsons, Kevin and Kendall Hursey. The interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Kyle Lott, Kerry Van Moore, Randy Harrell, Kirby Holton, Darrell Wooten, and Robert Rivers. Junior Pallbearers: Adam Rogers and Kristain Hursey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Romeo Reyes, Ronnie Carver, Jim and Audrey Wilkerson, Tommy and Ann Shephard, and REA employees and retirees.

Sims Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
