On February 29, 2024 (Leap Day) Mrs. Brenda McClelland Tyler, age 81, leapt into the arms of Jesus. She passed away peacefully at her home in Douglas, Georgia surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Led by her deep faith in Christ, she not only showed love and kindness to those around her, but she instilled that strong faith in others who will carry that flame forward. Brenda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Richard Tyler; her parents, Leonard and Virginia McClelland; 3 sisters: Vera McClelland, Faye McClelland, and Geraldine Johnson; 2 brothers: Leon McClelland and Mack McClelland.

Brenda is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-law: Dawn Dolgner of Douglas, Georgia, Sherri (Tim) Tabb of O’Steen, Florida; grandchildren: Nichole Hallman and Victoria Keene, Alissa, Zachary and Kendyl Tabb; great-grandchildren: Ricky, Natalie, Reagan and Myah; brother, J.L. McClelland; and sister, Peggy Neptune.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Rocky Pond Baptist Church, with Rev. Lonnie Spikes officiating and Dawn Dolgner giving the eulogy. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Rocky Pond Baptist Church.

Active pallbearers will be: Ricky Brenay, III, Alissa Tabb, Steve McClelland, Kip McClelland, Koby McClelland and Kodey Johnson.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.
