The CCA Patriots’ bats came alive Tuesday in a 16-1 victory over Coastal Homeschool in a run-rule shortened away game.

The Patriots scored nine in the top of the fourth; in actuality, however, the game was already well out of reach by that point. CCA plated runs in the first (2), second (4), third (1), and fourth (9) to easily handle Coastal. The only run Coastal scored came in the first on a CCA error.

Case Snipes led the Patriots offensively with five RBI, a hit, a walk, and a run scored. Jonathan Rutland was a perfect 2-2 with two RBI and two runs scored. Gavin McLean and Thomas Gentry each scored three runs as well.

Rutland took the win for CCA with two innings of no-hit baseball. He struck out six and walked two. Sam Ables and Snipes each threw an inning apiece.

The Patriots are 2-0 on the season and face Trinity Christian Thursday at home. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
