Billy Kirkland, age 89, of Douglas, GA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, GA. He was born on March 12th, 1934 the son of Mr. Willis Mildron Kirkland Sr. and Mrs. Bertie Herrin Kirkland.

Mr. Kirkland was retired from the Coffee County Board of education as a school teacher. He coached baseball at Nicholls High School, as one of his many achievements. He bravely served our country as a medical corpsman in the United States Army.

His survivors include: One Son; Willis Mildron (Bill) Kirkland III of Nicholls, GA, One Daughter; Leigh Ann (Ronald) Kirkland Taylor of Ambrose, GA , Six Grandchildren; Amy Leigh (Stephen) Howe, Angela Goodman Kircher,Reis Hill, Rian Hill, Ansleigh (Ethan) Hill Johns, Addison Taylor, Great-Grandchildren; Logan Howe, Emory Howe, and Asher Goodman, along with several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by: His Beloved wife; Sylvia Williams Kirkland, Father; Willis Mildron Kirkland Sr., Mother; Bertie Herrin Kirkland, Great-Granddaughter; Blake Leigh Howe, Two Brothers; George Kirkland, and Joe Osburn, Two Sisters; Mildred Kirkland Adams, and Gwendolyn Kirkland McCallum.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM.

Funeral Services will be held at Chatterton Grove Baptist Church at 2:00PM, on March 9th, 2024, with Rev. Tommy Green officiating, Rev. Gene Chaney giving Eulogy and Rev. Dody Hersey at the Graveside. Interment will follow at Chatterton Grove Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will include: Reis Hill, Rian Hill, John Ott, Jeffery Osburn, Stanley Williams, and Ethan Johns.

Honorary pallbearers will include: The Congregations of Salem Holiness Baptist Church, Calvary Mission Church, and First Assembly of God.

Sims Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
