Mr. Reinaldo Salvador Ortiz, age 65, of Douglas, Georgia passed away peacefully at his residence early Thursday morning, February 22, 2024.

Mr. Ortiz was born June 14, 1958 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late Ramon Ormsby Ortiz and the late Juanell Jewell Ortiz. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Ortiz proudly served our country in the United States Army. He carried the title of Golden Glove Boxing Champion for 7 years. In his spare time enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Ortiz attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Along with his parents, Mr. Ortiz was preceded in death by 1 brother, Emilio Ortiz.

Mr. Ortiz is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Louise Davis Ortiz of Douglas, Georgia; children: Jose and Ashley Ortiz, of Douglas, Georgia, Zachary and Adam Ortiz of Jeff Davis County, Johnathan Ortiz of Douglas, Georgia; 3 grandchildren: Konor Ortiz, Ava Wynn, Maddux Wynn; 2 sisters: Joy Smith and husband, Ricky, of Ambrose, Georgia and Camellia Spivey and husband, Stanley, of Douglas, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, February 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Branch President Rodney Peterson officiating, Mr. Adam Smith giving the eulogy and Mr. Michael Davis speaking. Burial will follow at the Calvary Full Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be: Konor Ortiz, Timothy Davis, Daniel Davis, Nathan Spivey, Josh Brigman, Adam Smith, Dorsey Smith, and Ben Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Max Duque, Anthony Davis, Clint Williams and Dillon Anderson.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
