Amon Randolph Roberts Jr., age 71, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away at his home on Friday morning, February 2nd, 2024. Mr. Roberts was born in Ocilla, Georgia on July 23, 1952, the son of the late Mr. Amon R. Roberts and Mrs. Madge T. Roberts.

Mr. Roberts was an employee of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service for thirty-three years. He served in Coffee County as an extension agent for thirty-one years. He was an active member of College Avenue Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and young adult Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed spending time with his family and raising Hereford cattle. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed attending games.

Randy is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Charlene Roberts, Two Daughters; Karen R. Hall and husband Chris of Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Hannah K. Roberts of Moultrie, GA, One Grandson; Rand Hall.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 2:00PM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Georgia, with Rev. Jimmy Littlejohn officiating . Interment will follow at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County.

Active Pallbearers will include: Michael Berry, Chad Gilliard, Paul Herndon, Collin Batchelor, Blake Stewart, Brent Roberts, and Morgan Smith.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
